In 2005, Kansas Reads to Preschoolers began as a One-Book/One-State Intergenerational Reading Initiative to highlight the importance of reading to children. Each year, a committee of librarians and educators select a title with the goal of every Kansas child from birth to age five having the opportunity to listen to it being read during the month of November. Louisburg Library supports the project by hosting events, visiting preschools and daycares, and book giveaways during the month.
